Shadow looked to her than back to the necklace putting it back on. It was his mothers after all he often kept it. More out of habit not really thinking about it. Shadow looked back to her knowing something is wrong. Not forceing her to tell him, debating silently on wheather or not to tell her his real name. He may not have a choice in the end though.

Carrie sighed sadly and rested her head on her knees. She was too upset to even talk about what was wrong. But she wasn't crying. She lifted her head up. " All of my friends usually all write in one letter. But this time it was their parents all writing together in one letter. I just found out why. My friends are all dead. Something or someone hurt them too badly for them to live" she said.

Chooseing to stay silent it was better that way. At least it was to him silence for him was easier. To him it was odd the fact he cares about her. Everyone always said there is no magic that can raise the dead. That was not true he knows that. Alive it would kill you if you where not strong enough. Many people die doing that, he how ever knew it can be done. He had died because of his powers to much had been unleashed. His engergy level was to low but there was no other option. He did not care about the people at all, he was protecting something else. Looking to her not certain if it would be wise, to tell her it can be fixed. If she asked he could help, but was she ready that, was always the question. Waiting patiently for her knowing, it was better to leave her alone for awhile.

Carrie was just not even wanting to see them. She knew if she saw them now she'd be even more heartbroken and upset. She already knows that she can hardly ever fall in love because she can't even have faith in anything at all. She has no faith in her own family.

Without warning he started speaking in a language ancient unknown lost. " Se Mor'ranr ono finna " the comfort, and meaning of those words, and the peace they brought, it could not be explained. Without explaining he seemed to sigh, as if he just releazied he had spoken in words that where not english. "i mean..May you find peace " suddenly he stood up and started to walk off.

Carrie suddenly knew what she wanted. But kept her mouth shut. She felt a sudden jump in her heart. She had to go back to her aunt and uncle. But she wished they would treat her better first.

Shadow was thinking about something in his past he was leaning against a support pole to the porch. Self conciously messing with the red star jewel in his hand. It was clear it was a habbit he had. A owl hooted and a pack of wolves began to howl. As the night came alive his bright blue eyes where closed, as he remembered the past.

Carrie stood up and picked up the letter. She turned and headed inside. She didn't like the night for some reason. She sat down in a chair and started writing a letter to her aunt and uncle. She just hoped they would understand.

Putting the necklace back on but not bothering to keep it out of sight this time. He walked inside and sat down on the coach, that was oppisite of her. Not used to being around one person for very long. But seemed to be learning how to trust.

Carrie was a slow writer. She was only writing the third line. But she knew now it was hopeless to even try. She stopped writing and found herself asleep after a few minutes.

Sometime dureing the night he had layed her down putting, a pillow under her head, and a blanket over her. Putting the paper and pencile on a desk near her. Whispering softly " not even i can stay in this world forever " she would hear the words the minute she was awake, as if he had just said them. Walking upstairs into a open room. He layed down on his bed he seemed to only be sleeping. In the past few days he seems to have grown more distance. His pierceing ice blue eyes where closed.

Carrie stayed asleep but rolled onto her side. She couldn't sleep still. She always had to be moving. But for some reason after getting onto her side she stayed there. She was content on where she was sleeping.

Late that night he came back into the room he was going somewhere. Seeing her there he picked her up in his arms, carried up stairs and layed her down on a bed, across the hall from his room. Covering her up then left the room shutting the door. Around noon that morning he came back from somewhere. Though she would not see him come back, but would have noticed he had left. Once he walked back outside, he went into the stabels, letting the other horses, out then dissappeared, till about one thirty. Finally he sat on the fence, Midnight's head resting on his shoulder.

Carrie finished her letter. She called for her owl. The white owl's wing was bleeding but she thought it could make it to her aunt and uncle's house and back without trouble. The owl took the letter and flew off.

Midnight saw the owl and snorted at it, then closed his eyes. Shadow scratched the horses cheek which, seemed to make the stallion start to doze off. Intruth the horse was just being a kiss up. Shadow stood up on the fence aware Carrie was watching. Walking on the top of the wooden fence, as if he where walking on solid ground. Midnight walked along side him then Shadow stepped off the fence onto the horse. Then the horse opened the gate, and walked out, Shadow stayed on his back then leaped off and patted the horses neck. Whispering something to the horse, it galloped off around the house, and into a new pasture. It seemed he was still trying to avoid anwsering the question on what his name was. He seemed to not know the star jewel that, was a brillianet dark red, in the shape of a star, though had some jagged edges to it. It was beautiful though he seemed, to never talk about it though. Walking up to her he sat down , he did not have anything left to do really.

Carrie was just hoping her aunt and uncle would allow her to move back in. She had her pad of pad and a pencil. She sighed and started drawing.

He rarely every stayed here for long, she may have picked up on that. Clearly very unused to company, and it was easy to tell he trust issues. It seemed he put the question she had asked behind him. The sun light glinting off of the star necklace, when it did so it seemed to glow brightly for a second.

Carrie looked to him. " You never did tell me your real name" she said. She went back to drawing the picture she was doing.

" something tells me i will not be able to get around the question.? " half stateing it and half asking her. The jewel around his neck was deffinately unusual, and more than diamond almost, something unreal.

" Nope because I have a feeling that if I don't find out I'll probably be leaving" said Carrie. She stopped drawing and smiled. She looked at it. Three horses were running on a beach. But she didn't know that until she was done. She thought she was drawing just a beach.
